Why Chose Blade Fencing

Customisation

You can have your batten fence completely customised to suit your needs. Choose the material (wood, aluminium or steel), powder-coating colour, batten sizes, spacing, rail profile and more – the possibilities are almost endless! Check out our blog post all about blade fencing to see all the customisation options and examples of what’s available.

Durability

Welded aluminium or steel blade fencing is highly durable, and as it allows air to pass through, it holds up well in Perth’s windy conditions. Metal blade fencing is also low maintenance – brush it down to remove debris and wash it with clean water if required, and you’re good to go. We recommend aluminium over a timber batten fence as it is less durable and requires more frequent maintenance.

Privacy

While blade fences don’t provide complete privacy like PVC Privacy Fencing or Colorbond, they can add some privacy if the blades are placed close together, or thicker blades are used. Chat with our team about how to maximise privacy when creating your blade fence.

Security

Vertical blade fencing is a great way to boost security on your property, and can be installed with matching gates. The blades can also be made with a slanted top edge to deter unwanted visitors who attempt to scale your fence.

Blade vs Barr Fencing – What’s the Difference?

Blade fencing — features vertical battens welded to the front face of horizontal rails. This gives a flush, modern look on one side, while the rails remain visible from the other.

Barr fencing — uses a “through-rail” system, where the horizontal rails pass through precision-punched holes in the battens. This creates a perfectly symmetrical appearance on both sides and a clean “floating batten” effect.
